SNAPP -- SNMP Network Analysis and Presentation Package
SNAPP is a network statistical data collection and visualization tool. SNAPP consists of two pieces: A high-speed, persistent data collector written in C, and a web-based front-end for administration and visualization, written in Perl/CGI.
The SNAPP (SNMP Network Analysis and Presentation Package) data collector allows for high-performance, high-resolution SNMP data collection from network elements. Even in very large networks with greater than 100,000 interfaces, the SNAPP data collector can collect link utilization and error statistics on all network element interfaces with 10 second or greater resolution. SNAPP, combined with other GlobalNOC NMS visualization tools, can provide a near-realtime, constantly updating view of network infrastructure and its’ utilization and error characteristics. SNAPP can also be used to provide periodic utilization reports for tasks such as capacity planning, billing, and provider billing verification.
