Description:   Internet2 Engineers will be performing a chassis 
upgrade to the core node in Chicago, IL.  
Outage should be expected and the entire 
window is reserved.  Multihomed connectors

Subject:Internet2 IP Network Backbone Circuit LOSA-SEAT Maintenance

Start Time:Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 8:00 AM (0800) UTC



End Time:Wednesday, January 7, 2009, 2:00 PM (1400) UTC



Description:   Level(3) will be inserting a new optical add-drop node
in downtown Seattle between the current Seattle optical
node and the Portland Seattle node. This work will
affect all circuits between Seattle and Portland as
Level(3) inserts the new equipment and re-configures
the circuit paths. It is expected that the circuits
will experience intermittent connectivity during the
window, though the outages should be limited to 15
minutes in length. This is the first night of work in a
three-stage process to move the optical node to the
Pacific Northwest Gigapop colocation facility.
Subsequent outages will occur in steps two and three
shortly after this migration.
